Peter Orszag is Obama’s former White House budget director, and he is the 18th person to go from the White House to the media or vice versa.
No bias there.
Can you imagine if the mainstream media had this incestual relationship with Republicans? Democrats, media and non-media, would never stop talking about it. Americans would be outraged. But since the mainstream media is dominated by Democrat-Activists, the propaganda follows suit.
From NewsBusters:
The massive revolving door between the mainstream media and the Obama administration has spun once again, this time as former White House budget director Peter Orszag signs on as a New York Times op/ed columnist.
Orszag is the eighteenth individual (that we know of) to transition between the White House and the mainstream press. He will surely not be the last. That amazingly high number again underscores the ideological similarities between members of the Obama administration and members of the press. READ MORE
I can’t wait to see the junk put out from Obama’s former White House budget director. His first op/ed will probably be titled ‘Recession Is All Bush’s Fault’ or ‘More Spending Will Cure Economy’.
Here is a portion of the NY Times press release:
“We welcome Peter Orszag’s expertise and insight to our Op-Ed lineup,” said Andrew Rosenthal, editorial page editor of The New York Times. “As a Washington insider and one of the most recognizable names in economics, his writing will provide a unique perspective on the national landscape.”
Mr. Orszag is a distinguished visiting fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations. As President Barack Obama’s first budget director, he worked on the 2009 stimulus package and helped craft the health care legislation passed in 2010. He was an outspoken proponent of the idea that reducing health care costs would be key to maintaining the federal budget and preparing for the country’s economic future. READ MORE
And some still say the media isn’t biased in favor of Democrats. Never forget, Orszag is the eighteenth individual to transition between the Obama White House and the mainstream press.
From Washington Post:
As head of the Office of Management and Budget, Orszag has been one of Obama’s top lieutenants on two of the president’s signature legislative efforts: the stimulus bill, passed early in the administration, and the health care overhaul passed this year.
He also generated some headlines of his own, with the news that he had fathered a child with ex-girlfriend Claire Milonas, a Greek shipping heiress, and that he had become engaged to ABC News reporter Bianna Golodryga. Their wedding is planned for September.
The exact timing of when Orszag would leave the administration remained unclear, the Democrat said, speaking on condition of the anonymity to avoid souring relations with administration officials. Orszag’s plans to quit have been rumored for months in Washington, particularly once he wrapped up budget planning for the fiscal year that begins Oct. 1.
I guess he had to get out of the WH before his awful stimulus and healthcare took effect. Or maybe it was because he got engaged to an ABC News reporter while serving as Obama’s budget director. That just looks bad, even to some Democrats.
Dems and media are too close for comfort.
