The Dow Jones Industrial Average topped the 28,000 mark for the first time ever, closing Friday at 28,004.89.
For the day, the Dow increased by about 223 points. Friday’s record close was the 11th record of 2019. It first reached 27,000 on July 11.
“Stock Market up big. New and Historic Record. Job, jobs, jobs!” Trump tweeted.
Apple, JP Morgan Chase and Boeing helped lead the way, with all three companies having solid days.
The landmark came a day after White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow said the U.S. and China were close to reaching a trade deal.
The S&P and Nasdaq also had strong weeks.
