I recorded the last hour of a new CNN show, The Story Is with Elex Michaelson, on January 28, 2026. The program premiered on October 27, 2025, and I had never heard of it before.
As I fast-forwarded through the recording looking for something that didn’t bore me, I was surprised to see Joel Pollak, a former Breitbart News editor and now Opinion Editor of The California Post, being interviewed. I stopped to watch the segment and clipped the interview.
The short discussion focused on President Trump’s executive order and California’s wildfire recovery and permitting process.
I searched for the clip on YouTube and CNN so I could paste the code or a link, but I could not find it. After looking at Michaelson’s CNN page, I’m surprised he even did the interview, since he posts segments like “Dr. Abdul El-Sayed’s Call to Abolish ICE,” “Schiff Reacts to Seizing of Venezuela Tanker,” and “Sen. Padilla: ‘We have a DOJ that’s been politicized by Trump.’”
So while Michaelson did interview Joel Pollak for a few minutes, that does not mean he is not advancing the Democrats’ agenda or serving as a mouthpiece for it. Judging by the other segments he promotes and what I fast-forwarded through, he still appears to lean heavily toward Democrat narratives and fluff. That impression was reinforced by the show’s final segment, which focused on Fashion Week in Paris.
