Four Adults With Immigration Detainers Charged In Miami Killing Of Desiree Gonzalez — National Media Silent

The killing of Desiree Gonzalez happened just before midnight on December 27, 2025 We are only now hearing about this horrific crime through CBS Miami, NBC Miami, and other local outlets.

So far, it has not received national media coverage. I searched the major national news sites and could not find the story on any of them — not CNN, not The New York Times, not ABC, not The Washington Post, not PBS, not NPR, not Fox News, and not MS NOW.

The story remains confined to local affiliate reporting and has not been elevated to national coverage by CBS News or NBC News.

That silence is the story.

Miami police have arrested four adult suspects and one juvenile in connection with the shooting that killed Desiree Gonzalez, an innocent bystander struck by gunfire while leaving a neighborhood store in Little Havana.

Investigators say the shooting occurred after a confrontation between two groups escalated into a gunfight. Gonzalez was not the intended target. She was hit in the neck and later died from her injuries.

The four adult suspects face serious felony charges, including murder and related offenses. Police say multiple rounds were fired during the incident, turning a public street into a crime scene and costing an innocent woman her life.

Jail records show that all four adult suspects have immigration detainers placed on them. The juvenile suspect is being handled separately through the juvenile justice system.

Desiree Gonzalez was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. Her death should matter regardless of who committed the crime. But the way this case has been covered — or ignored — fits a familiar pattern. When illegal aliens or foreign nationals commit crimes, the corporate, liberal, and public media ignore the news, and when they do report it, they do not push it, repeat it, or treat it as a national priority.

Below is what a first-page Google search looks like when an American is killed by suspects who are flagged by federal immigration authorities.

When you click on the CBS link, it’s CBS Miami.  Same with NBC. As of right now, CBS News and NBC (national) are not separately reporting that story.
