Governor JB Pritzker Celebrates National Walking Day Just 13 Days After Loyola Student Was Shot Dead By Illegal Alien While She Was Walking In His Sanctuary State

On March 19, 2026, 18-year-old Loyola freshman Sheridan Gorman was walking with friends on the pier at Tobey Prinz Beach in Chicago’s Rogers Park.

Jose Medina, 25, a Venezuelan who entered the U.S. illegally in 2023 under Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, was hiding behind the lighthouse, wearing all black and a mask. Gorman spotted him first, whispered to her friends, and the group ran.

Medina jumped out, brandished a gun, and fired one shot as they fled, striking Gorman in the upper back. The bullet exited through her neck. She collapsed on the pier, was found unresponsive and bleeding, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Just 13 days later, on April 1 (National Walking Day), Pritzker posted a cheerful video promoting walking for exercise and calling Illinois a great place to walk, fully aware of the murder.

A young woman was just gunned down while walking in Chicago by a masked illegal alien, yet Pritzker still posted the video telling everyone what a great place Illinois is to walk. Because the people in his state are better than everyone else in America.

Posting the upbeat come walk in Illinois promo was intentional. It was a calculated decision to push a narrative over reality. And it was a huge lie. Illinois is not a great place to walk. It is a very dangerous place to walk because it is a sanctuary state and illegal alien criminals are everywhere.

Pritzker knew about the killing of an innocent college student walking on a public lakefront pier. Posting the upbeat come walk in Illinois promo soon after was beyond offensive.

What an evil man.

Transcript:

JB Pritzker: I love walking cause I get to get exercise and it feels really good, especially early in the morning, and on even a little bit chilly day. It’s wonderful. Plus I get to be in the parks across the city running to people. Uh, Illinoisans,

How do you feel after you completed your walk?

JB Pritzker: I feel so rejuvenated when I’m done walking. Uh. Part of it is just getting the brain moving in the morning and get to think about what’s ahead in the day. And then of course, you know, I’ve got to move all my muscles and sometimes even running in the morning. So all of it comes together and just gets me a good start to the day.

JB Pritzker: Oh, Illinois is the best place to walk.P artly because of the people. Frankly, that’s the biggest reason. Love running into people. These are the kindest, most decent, hard working people in the entire country. And I also love walking the parks across the state. Whether we’re talking about champagne or Springfield, Carbondale, Quincy or the city of Chicago,
