ABC News and its anchor, George Stephanopoulos, have reached a settlement with President-elect Donald Trump in a defamation lawsuit. The agreement, filed publicly on Saturday, will see ABC News pay Trump $15 million as a charitable contribution toward his Presidential foundation and museum. These statements were made in an interview with Rep. Nancy Mace following a civil case involving E. Jean Carroll, where the jury found Trump liable for sexual abuse, not rape, under New York law. The settlement includes ABC News and Stephanopoulos releasing a statement of “regret” over the inaccurate claims, which will be included as an editor’s note in the related article. READ MORE
