GOP Rep. Launches Effort To End Chain Migration, Repeal Parts Of Hart-Celler Act

Chain migration is a migration pattern in which people move to America because family members, friends, or others from their community have already settled there and can help them adjust—providing information, housing, jobs, or sponsorship. This process places heavy pressure on local resources in receiving areas. It strains schools, housing, hospitals, and state or city budgets. High inflows worsen shortages in affordable housing, overload public services, and increase competition for lower-wage jobs, which harms American workers. Chain immigration does not target or fill U.S. skill shortages. It also overwhelms the immigration court and asylum systems, and many of these newcomers draw on public welfare programs, further squeezing budgets. Not to mention, immigrant increase crime rates.

Chain migration has been responsible for bringing a significant portion of new  “lawful” permanent residents to the U.S. (approximately 68% in 2016).

Democrats are always looking for more ways to bring foreigners into the USA. If only they cared about Americans as much as they do foreigners.

America needs less immigration, not more.
