Jen Psaki, the former Biden White House press secretary, former Obama White House communications director, and now MS NOW host, tried to spin Joe Kent as a “MAGA die-hard” insider who quit over Trump’s Iran strikes because there was supposedly no imminent threat — even though Kent himself had previously warned that Iran and its terror proxies posed a serious danger to U.S. forces and national security.
She wants you to buy that he’s a MAGA die-hard turned dissenter exposing the “truth.”
Kent is no MAGA die-hard. He was not even a major name in the movement before this resignation drama — he only got national attention after turning on Trump and running to the media.
Kent switched parties multiple times: Libertarian (2012–2019), then Democrat (2019–2021), including a Bernie Sanders primary vote in 2020, then Republican only when he decided to run for Congress. That is not MAGA loyalty. That is political opportunism.
His second wife is anti-Trump. They married in 2023, and she has ties to anti-Trump figures like Max Blumenthal through her contributions to The Grayzone, a left-leaning outlet hostile to U.S. foreign policy and Israel. Given how quickly Kent changed course after the marriage, it is fair to suspect her influence played a role in his sudden flip.
But MAGA is about not waiting to get bombed by Iran or attacked by Iran-backed terrorists. Kent’s sudden claim that there was “no imminent threat” from Iran is a betrayal of real America First security.
As recently as his Senate testimony and his role in the Trump administration, he repeatedly warned that Iran and its terror proxies posed an ongoing threat to U.S. forces. Then, in his resignation and media appearances, he claimed there was no real threat at all and that the strikes were just the result of Israel pressure. That is a total 180. He sounds just like his wife now.
Kent is not the MAGA heavyweight Psaki claims. He is no MAGA die-hard.
And Psaki? She is a Democrat die-hard through and through — Biden’s press secretary (2021–2022), Obama’s White House communications director (2015–2017) and various roles in his administration since 2009, plus early DNC-linked work like regional press secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in the mid-2000s.
She has been deeply embedded in Democrat politics for nearly 20 years, pushing partisan narratives on MS NOW now. This is what she does: take a serial flip-flopper like Kent and try to sell him as the authentic voice of MAGA to undermine Trump.
Trump promised to protect America, and that is exactly what he is doing. MAGA stands with a president who keeps his word and keeps this country safe. One opportunist resignation does not change that.
