It is home to the Amazon rainforest, the Andes Mountains, and the world-famous Galápagos Islands, along with historic cities, vibrant traditions, and some of the best cacao and fruit in the world. Ecuador has its own government, economy, and society, and millions of people live and work there every day. There is nothing shameful about returning to Ecuador, and there is no legitimate reason someone should be hiding in a foreign consulate to avoid being sent back to their own country.
