Chris Hayes and Jen Psaki kicked off her show whining about the cost of deploying troops to stop the LA riots, yet they’re silent on the hundreds of billions Democrats funnel into illegal immigration.
Jen Psaki, clearly obsessed, couldn’t let it go. She ranted, “Okay, I’ve clearly been thinking about this fact all day. Um, I can’t get it out of my mind. Right now, there are more troops deployed to Los Angeles than there are deployed in Syria and Iraq combined. Let me just repeat that because I’ve just been thinking about this all day since one of our amazing producers shared this with me. There are more troops deployed to Los Angeles than there are deployed in Syria and Iraq combined. And right now Donald Trump is also doing everything he can to make Los Angeles look and feel like a war zone. That’s on purpose. That’s what he’s trying to do…”
Psaki continued, “And the reality on the ground is that the protests that Trump sent these thousands of members of the military to deal with are both largely peaceful…”
Her claim that the Los Angeles protests, which Trump sent the military to, were “both largely peaceful” is misleading. For four straight days, protests turned into violent riots. Stores were looted—sneaker shops, cannabis dispensaries, and an Apple store were ransacked. Property was vandalized, with graffiti defacing federal buildings and small businesses. Cars, including Waymo driverless vehicles, were set ablaze, sending toxic smoke into the air. Law enforcement was assaulted, with rioters throwing rocks, fireworks, and Molotov cocktails. Cinder blocks were hurled from freeway overpasses, endangering lives below. Motorcyclists rammed into police, injuring officers.
Even the so-called “peaceful” protests weren’t as peaceful as she claims. Blocking roads and highways disrupted lives and traffic for hours while protesters demanded taxpayer-funded legal representation, due process for illegal immigrants, and policies that would prioritize illegal immigrants over federal immigration laws, the president of the United States, and his voters. Psaki’s so-called peaceful protests, backed by the Democrats’ radical demands, are anything but peaceful.
It is not true that “Right now Donald Trump is also doing everything he can to make Los Angeles look and feel like a war zone. That’s on purpose. That’s what he’s trying to do.” The assumption that President Trump wanted chaos is dead wrong; his purpose was to stop the riots in LA and prevent them from spreading across California and the nation. He deployed 4,800 troops—2,000 National Guard initially, followed by 700 Marines and 2,000 more Guard members—to restore order and protect communities. The war zone was created by Governor Newsom and Mayor Bass, who failed to stop rioters from looting, burning, and attacking, not by Trump’s actions to end the violence.
This is what so many have dreamed of for a lifetime: the military prioritizing the homeland over foreign wars. Having more troops in Los Angeles than in Syria and Iraq combined is a tremendous victory! This is what voters demanded: bring our soldiers home to secure our streets, borders, and people. Democrats, who’ve long screamed about troops stationed overseas and endless wars, are now complaining about this shift to domestic security and fewer troops abroad. They should be overjoyed that our military is focused on protecting Americans at home. Why aren’t they celebrating?
