Psaki: Venezuelan Vote Rigging Is A “Baseless Allegation” And “Bogus Conspiracy Theory”

In the February 5, 2026 episode of The Briefing with Jen Psaki on MS NOW, Jen Psaki not only dismissed claims about Venezuelan interference in U.S. elections but went further, calling it a “baseless allegation” and a “conspiracy theory.”

She said:

I just want to dig into that baseless allegation about Venezuelan vote rigging for a moment because we already know that Trump himself has been absolutely fixated on this idea. In fact, Trump himself breathed new life into that conspiracy theory in a flurry of posts on social media… But long before we knew of Tulsi Gabbard’s involvement in all of this, the Guardian reported in November that Trump’s DOJ had been investigating the discredited claims of Venezuelan vote rigging. They revealed that two promoters of the bogus Venezuela conspiracy theory had repeatedly briefed Trump’s U.S. Attorney for the District of Puerto Rico, and that he had been very receptive to their claims. So there’s that.”

Psaki claims she wants to “dig into” a claim she called baseless. That is a contradiction in itself — if she’s already labeled the claim as baseless, how can she credibly claim to be investigating it further? What she’s really doing is reading articles from liberal media outlets to reinforce a narrative that fits her agenda. That’s not digging in — it’s simply repeating the same narrative. She calls it a “bogus Venezuela conspiracy theory” in an attempt to shut down the conversation and dismiss the concerns altogether. She clearly wants her viewers not to take it seriously. But when the leftist media calls something a conspiracy theory, it’s usually true.

Venezuela has a documented history of vote rigging. Not to mention, about 1.2 million Venezuelans live in the U.S., a population large enough to sway elections. Jen Psaki wants to register them all to vote while bringing more into the U.S., instead of helping them in their own country.

She continued:

“And right around the same time that report came out, the New York Times reported that Venezuela’s main opposition figure, Maria Machado, had also begun amplifying those same debunked claims that the Venezuelan government rigged the U.S. election, which of course fueled accusations that she was embracing misinformation to gain favor with the Trump administration.”

Psaki labels these claims “debunked” and accuses Machado of embracing “misinformation,” even though María Corina Machado, like President Trump, had the election stolen from her too. This is a common tactic in the media — when right-wing individuals who have been cheated out of an election speak out to expose the electoral manipulation and defend election integrity, their concerns are dismissed as conspiracy theories and misinformation. The corporate, liberal, and public media in the U.S. and around the world protect the leftist cheaters by ignoring and dismissing voter fraud instead of taking the time to investigate and report on it.

This is exactly how the media in the U.S. covered the 2020 election: they ignored all the election fraud nationwide and referred to them as a conspiracy theory and Trump’s Big Lie. The same tactic is now being used to dismiss concerns about foreign interference from Venezuela.

The corporate, liberal, and public media in the U.S. help Democrats — and authoritarian regimes around the world — cheat elections by ignoring election fraud, calling it a conspiracy theory, and labeling it debunked, rather than “digging in” to investigate and expose all election rigging.
