Whether the media thinks someone is a “good person” or not doesn’t change the fact that immigration laws exist for a reason.
Wallace’s warning underscores MSNBC’s broader narrative: deportation is framed as acceptable only if someone is an “actual gang member” or “doing harm.” But that raises the question — who gets to decide what counts as “harm,” and why are illegal immigrants given special exceptions in the first place?
At the end of the day, being in the USA illegally is exactly that — illegal. Having a job doesn’t erase it, excuse it, or suddenly make it lawful.
