On July 14, 2026, Bianna Golodryga filled in for Christiane Amanpour on Amanpour & Company and hosted Maine Democrat Rep. Chellie Pingree for a one-sided segment.
She gave Pingree 15 minutes at the beginning of the show to discuss Johan Sebastián Durán Guerrero, an illegal alien shot by ICE. Yet I could find no comparable segment in Golodryga’s entire career that centered on the stories of American families whose loved ones were killed by illegal aliens.
All year, PBS and the rest of the legacy media obsess over a small number of encounters involving ICE and illegal aliens while completely ignoring American victims of illegal-alien crime.
Back to Guerrero.
The incident occurred on the morning of July 13, 2026, in Biddeford, Maine. ICE agents were surveilling an address connected to a person with a final order of removal.
Guerrero was not the person ICE was originally seeking. When his vehicle left the residence, agents attempted to stop it.
DHS said the vehicle attempted to flee and that an officer fired.

“The New York Times is reporting that the White House is ordering ICE to cease most vehicle stops after this latest killing.
So your reaction to that news, I would imagine that it is welcome news.”
Chellie Pingree:
“Absolutely. As well they should, um, they should stop their activities.
People are so angry that we have a significant ICE presence in our state. We have had it for months.
And this very idea that an individual could leave his home to go to work and, not very far away from his house, he’s shot.
He’ll never see his three-year-old daughter again.”
Imagine if Chellie Pingree had said, And this very idea that an American could leave her home and go to work, not very far from her house, and get gang-raped and murdered by an illegal alien.

Americans leave their homes in every state, and illegal aliens rape, murder, rob, assault, and brutalize them in the worst possible ways — every day. But Democrats and PBS don’t say a word. They don’t care one damn bit about American victims. I have literally been watching Democrats and the liberal/legacy/fake news ignore illegal alien crime daily for over 20 years.
Bianna Golodryga:
“So let’s just talk about what, uh, happened over the last 24 hours.
Um, a little more than 24 hours Monday morning.
Uh, Mr. Guerrero was on his way to work, as we had noted in the introduction there.
Um, he was shot at by ICE agents and apparently with his three-year-old daughter still wearing her pajamas.
And his partner, uh, who had witnessed the shooting, were they in the car with him or were they outside?
Because I understand that he was very near their home.”
Chellie Pingree:
“Yeah, as I understand it, he had just pulled out of the driveway.
I don’t think that they were in the car.
I think he was going to work.
And I think shortly after this shooting, they came out.
His wife was clearly there. His three-year-old daughter in the Bluey pajamas with her pink backpack witnessed the whole thing, as did many of the neighbors and others who saw exactly what happened.
We’ve gotten so little information from ICE, even though everyone in the state and the congressional delegation has been requesting it.
And as you mentioned earlier, they’ve given very little, um, argument for exactly what they did.
He was driving away, by their account, and they said they did this for public safety reasons.
But as we know, there are a lot of constraints on normal law enforcement about shooting someone in a car.
These four shots were fired through the windshield, and clearly this person died very quickly.”
Bianna Golodryga:
“And that’s been confirmed that the shots were fired.
I would imagine head-on through the windshield.”
Chellie Pingree:
“You can see it in the pictures.
And I visited the crime scene myself.”
Pingree went to this crime scene herself. Yet where is that same personal attention when criminal illegal aliens kill Americans.
During Operation Catch of the Day in January 2026, ICE arrested more than 100 criminal illegal aliens across Maine.
DHS said the first day’s arrests included illegal aliens convicted of aggravated assault, false imprisonment, and endangering the welfare of a child.
Among those arrested were individuals like Dominic Ali from Sudan, convicted of false imprisonment, aggravated assault, assault, obstructing justice, and violation of a protective order, and Ambessa Berhe from Ethiopia, convicted of aggravated assault and cocaine possession.
In addition, two Angolan illegal aliens who overstayed B-2 tourist visas were involved in separate fatal pedestrian strikes in August 2025.
Mukendi Mbiya struck and killed 64-year-old Stacy Strattard in New Gloucester.
Lionel Francisco allegedly struck and killed 74-year-old Elizabeth Camacho in Lewiston.
Both were arrested by ICE afterward.
Has Pingree ever personally visited the victims of illegal aliens or given their stories any attention?
But she did let viewers know that Guerrero’s three-year-old daughter was wearing Bluey pajamas and carrying a pink backpack.
As a Democratic representative, Pingree should be warning illegal aliens in her state not to run from ICE.
Instead, she called for ICE to stop its activities:
“They should, um, they should stop their activities.”
Pingree called for ICE to stop operating in Maine—but she did not call for the people living in the state illegally to leave.
