On the October 21 broadcast of The Weeknight on MS NOW, Symone Sanders-Townsend accused Vice President JD Vance of lowering the bar of political decency even further, despite the bar already being “in hell.” She then said he was a “vile human being” before blaming Trumpism for the decline in political discourse.
How can these people seriously lecture Republicans about political decency when Democrats and their media allies are the ones who set the bar as low as it could possibly go?
While criticizing Vance for defending a campaign ad against Ohio Democratic gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton, she said:
“Forget the fact that I’m a vile human being.”
She then blamed Trumpism:
“This is actually been a feature of, um, Trumpism and our politics over the last couple of years. I’ve argued for the last decade. And this is what they, people like JD Vance, people like the president, people who subscribe to Trumpism would like to become the new normal. And I think we cannot allow this type of rhetoric, these kind of attacks to become normal.”
Another panelist piled on:
“How many levels of hell can we go down? Because it seems like there is never a bottom for the Trump administration. The way they campaign, it’s gutter politics.”
Has Symone Sanders-Townsend ever listened to her own show—or any show on MS NOW? Has she ever watched a Democratic campaign ad?
Democrats and their media allies have been viciously attacking, lying about and slandering Republicans for as long as I can remember. The people on MS NOW spend most of their shows doing just that.
I didn’t think Democrats and the media could treat a Republican any worse than they did George W. Bush—and I’m no fan of Bush.
Then came Donald Trump.
Trump was a political outsider who challenged the Washington establishment and the Deep State system, which the media is a part of. When he ran for president, political attacks reached an entirely new level—but it was Democrats and their media allies who took them there.
And now Symone Sanders-Townsend and her fellow panelists want to blame Trumpism for lowering the bar of political decency?
Their obliviousness and hypocrisy are astounding.
