On the September 14, 2026 broadcast of The Rachel Maddow Show on MS NOW, Maddow and her guest celebrated a U.S. Supreme Court decision that left in place a lower-court injunction blocking new U.S. Postal Service requirements for mail ballots ahead of the November midterm elections.
The USPS rule, which followed President Trump’s elections-related executive order, would have required federal ballot-mail envelopes to meet new design standards, use a specialized barcode unique to each voter, and have voter information submitted through a USPS system. Mailings that failed to comply could be rejected and returned to election officials.
The administration argued that these requirements were designed to strengthen safeguards surrounding ballot mail and reduce the risk of fraud. The states challenging the rule argued that USPS lacked authority to impose them and that forcing election officials to make major changes so close to the election could disrupt voting.
On September 14, the Supreme Court denied the administration’s request to stay the preliminary injunction, leaving the USPS requirements blocked for the November 2026 election while the litigation continues.
Maddow brought on California Attorney General Rob Bonta, the Democrat who led the Democratic lawsuit to block the administration’s election integrity reforms.
Maddow asked Bonta if she had “messed anything up” in her explanation of it.
He said:
Well, thank you, Rachel. It’s an honor to be with you and you got it all right as you always do.
To claim Rachel Maddow is “right as always” is hilarious.
Maddow is a highly partisan political commentator, who only shows her side. Her show is built around her opinions, arguments, and interpretation of events, and she is wrong in every episode. Even left-wing PolitiFact rates her False or Mostly False.
A federal appeals court described one of her on-air statements as an “obvious exaggeration” that could not reasonably be understood as an assertion of objective fact.
Maddow has built a career on being wrong and repeating Democratic propaganda—from peddling the debunked Russiagate conspiracy theory to her biased coverage of illegal immigration. She only shows her side while ignoring the facts.
Maddow makes $25 million a year from corporate media executives to act as a shield for the deep state, corporate elites, and left-wing politicians who want to dismantle basic voter identification and ballot security.
Bonta went on to brag about keeping “all the ways and days available to you,” celebrating the survival of unregulated drop boxes and mass mail-in balloting.
Instead of admitting that the Left’s endless lawsuits and resistance to secure voting laws are what actually confuse voters and make the election insecure, Maddow made another attempt to twist reality.
Maddow said:
“Trump is counting on people still being confused or still feeling uncertain or unconfident about the process of mail-in voting and about whether or not their vote is going to count. Maybe that itself will be suppressive in terms of, of people turning out.”
Remember, Bonta just said this woman is “always right.”
Yet here she is claiming that wanting clear, secure, and standardized rules is actually a secret plot to confuse people and lower turnout.
It takes a special kind of twisted logic to argue that a secure system causes confusion, while a completely chaotic system gives voters confidence.
If this is what being “always right” looks like, it’s no wonder the mainstream media has zero credibility left.
