Dearborn Man Faces Federal Charges For Alleged Possession Of Over 35,000 Child Pornography Files — Including Sexual Abuse Of Infants And Toddlers

DEARBORN, Mich. — A 26-year-old Dearborn man is facing serious federal charges after the FBI linked his IP address and electronic devices to more than 35,000 files of child pornography, including images and videos depicting the sexual abuse and assault of infants and toddlers.

Audy Mugally Al-Saidi was arrested on April 2, 2026, after federal agents raided his home on Lapham Street.

Prosecutors in Detroit have charged him with receipt, distribution, and possession of child pornography.

The investigation began in February 2026 when an FBI agent from the Violent Crimes Against Children Unit, monitoring BitTorrent peer-to-peer networks, flagged an IP address connected to roughly 35,002 files with keywords and hash values consistent with child pornography.

Court records show the same IP address had shared around 75 child pornography files as early as August 2025. Between July 2025 and March 2026, the device was involved in thousands of downloads, uploads, or sharing activities tied to child pornography. A subpoena to internet provider WideOpenWest (WOW!) traced the address directly to Al-Saidi’s residence.

During the raid, agents found Al-Saidi at home. He admitted using BitTorrent but claimed it was only to download movies. Investigators seized his computer and phone — he provided the passwords. A forensic review found hundreds of images meeting the federal definition of child pornography, including cached files and thumbnails depicting adult males sexually abusing and assaulting infant girls and toddlers.

Al-Saidi was booked into Sanilac County Jail. On April 9, he was released on a $10,000 unsecured bond with home detention and GPS monitoring.

Strict pretrial conditions include:

  • No unsupervised contact with anyone under 18 and no presence near places where children gather.
  • Surrender of all internet-connected devices (limited work exceptions only).
  • Complete ban on possessing or viewing any sexually explicit material.
  • Surrender of passport and no travel outside southeast Michigan.
  • Mandatory medical or mental health evaluation and treatment.
  • No possession of weapons.

The case is still active in federal court. Al-Saidi has not entered a plea.
