Democrats & Media Say Trump Threatened Iranian Genocide — But He Was Threatening The Regime

In last night’s episode of The Source with Kaitlan Collins, Congressman Ro Khanna and former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene appeared together on CNN to discuss President Trump’s recent statements. The conversation began with Trump’s criticism of the Pope and his strong rhetoric toward the Iranian regime.

Collins asked, “Do you understand why the president is engaging in this attack on the pope that he says he won’t apologize for?”

Ro Khanna responded:

“I find it sad. I mean, I respect Representative Greene as a person of Christian faith. We don’t agree on a lot of issues. We don’t agree on abortion rights. We may not agree on everything related to gun violence, but she cares about the dignity of human beings. That’s why she has spoken out against the president when he says, ‘I wanna wipe out Iranian civilization.’ That’s what I’m concerned about more than a social media post. That’s why we’ve spoken out for survivors. These aren’t political issues. These are moral issues rooted in our Constitution, rooted in our faith traditions. And my concern with the president is he’s not simply arguing ideology anymore. He’s made this about a betrayal of fundamental values.”

Khanna then referenced a specific Trump Truth Social post from last week. Here is the post in full:

“A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS? We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World. 47 years of extortion, corruption, and death, will finally end. God Bless the Great People of Iran!”

Despite the clear wording of Trump’s own post, Ro Khanna, along with some RINOs, Democrats, members of the mainstream media, Tucker Carlson, and Megyn Kelly, portrayed it as Trump threatening to commit genocide against the Iranian people.

Let’s be clear for those who either did not read the full post or deliberately twisted it: President Trump did not threaten to kill all Iranians.

Read the post again. Trump explicitly said, “I don’t want that to happen.” He also ended by saying, “God Bless the Great People of Iran.” He was clearly distinguishing between the Iranian people and the radical regime that has oppressed them since 1979.

What Trump was describing was the possible collapse of the Iranian regime, not the destruction of the Iranian people. He expressed hope that “different, smarter, and less radicalized minds” could take over and that “something revolutionarily wonderful” might happen. This is classic Trump negotiating style: maximum pressure, tough talk, and big leverage.

The Iranian people are not the enemy. The radical regime holding them hostage is. Trump has repeatedly made that distinction. The same voices now pretending to be horrified have often ignored, downplayed, or excused the regime’s actual atrocities, nuclear ambitions, terror proxies, and hostage-taking.

Collins then asked Marjorie Taylor Greene about her reaction, including her all-caps “25TH AMENDMENT!!!” post questioning Trump’s mental stability.

Marjorie Taylor Greene responded:

I think we have to truly question the mental stability of any president that threatens to wipe out an entire civilization of people that would include all the innocent people in that country that have nothing to do with the war, especially after President Trump said this was about freeing the Iranian people from the Iranian regime. So for him to call to wipe out an entire civilization of people, it is absolutely wrong. But, you know, here I wanna talk tonight about the reason why we’re having this discussion is Ro Khanna and I both are willing to say that the current center of right and left that have been coming together for decades have failed Americans. And I just like he said, we’re completely different.”

Khanna, Greene, and Collins know Trump did not call for killing all Iranians.

They read the full post which included “I don’t want that to happen” and “God Bless the Great People of Iran.”

Yet Ro Khanna, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, and much of the mainstream media still chose to portray it as Trump threatening genocide, an entire civilization of people, and large amounts of people.

This deliberate misrepresentation reveals more about their own motives and agenda than it does about anything Trump actually meant or said.

Don’t trust any of them, including Collins. They are all liars.
