On the June 17, 2026 broadcast of On the Line with Alicia Menendez on MS NOW, Democrat propagandist Alicia Menendez — daughter of convicted felon “Gold Bar Bob” Menendez, who is currently serving an 11-year federal prison sentence for bribery, extortion, acting as a foreign agent for Egypt, and massive corruption — hosted longtime Democrat-aligned fake news hack David S. Rohde.
Rohde has spent his career at mainstream outlets (NYT, Reuters, New Yorker, NBC News/MSNBC). His work, including the book Where Tyranny Begins, heavily criticizes Republican administrations and aligns with Democratic national security narratives. He is a consistent voice on the left-leaning network.
Rohde pushed this conspiracy theory: Trump putting Bill Pulte in the Acting DNI role was really part of a scheme to sway the 2026 midterms — in other words, a dressed-up “Trump is trying to steal the midterms” narrative:

And yet the president is prioritizing a loyalist with no experience, Bill Pulte, getting that job. But that is more important than this program continuing.
I don’t want to highlight worst-case scenarios, but there’s lots of evidence from experts and others that I’ve heard that President Trump is insisting on Bill Pulte so that he can use him to interfere in the midterm elections in November.
That is what the former Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, did — spreading his conspiracy theories about elections. She went down and seized election records in Fulton County, Georgia, which is unprecedented.
And the claim from the Trump administration is that the Director of National Intelligence, Bill Pulte, would have the power to go inspect voting machines and somehow take over authority to secure our elections — that belongs to state and local governments.
So then this, I think, is all about Trump’s efforts to interfere and sway the results of the midterm elections.
Blatant partisan smear from these two Democrat operatives. They turn the appointment of Bill Pulte — a businessman from a legendary American homebuilding family, private equity founder, and proven reformer who has already cleaned house at the massive Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac bureaucracy — into a grand “Trump is stealing the midterms” fantasy.
Fake news is freaking out because Pulte isn’t another career deep state operative who has spent decades inside the Washington intelligence swamp.
President Trump, a proven businessman, continues to show he’s far better at running the government and hiring people than any career politician president in modern history.
Joe Biden spent nearly 50 years in Washington — the very definition of “experience” these hacks constantly demand — yet he left behind a catastrophic Afghanistan withdrawal that empowered our enemies and left Americans stranded, record-high inflation that peaked at 9.1%, gas prices that surged to over $5.00 per gallon, a wide-open southern border with a record 10+ million illegal crossings, the worst supply chain crisis in decades, surging crime in major cities, and a dramatically weakened national security posture around the world.
Did you ever hear these two hacks, or anyone in the fake news media complain about senile Joe Biden and his puppet masters installing clearly compromised, family-influenced, or ideologically extreme picks across the intelligence community and cabinet — people who repeatedly failed to put America’s national security first?
Of course not. The hypocrisy is deafening. Same tired propaganda script, different day.
