Psaki: Trump Has No Stated Purpose, Strategy, Or Endgame In Iran — Calls Hegseth An Unqualified Clown

On April 29, 2026, on The Briefing with Jen Psaki, the former Biden White House Press Secretary, Obama White House Communications Director, State Department Spokesperson, and MS NOW host declared:

“The secretary of defense testified to Congress for the first time since his boss started a war with no stated purpose, no strategy and no clear endgame.”

Her words reveal a striking lack of basic research.

President Trump has clearly stated the purpose of Operation Epic Fury, launched February 28, 2026: to destroy Iran’s offensive ballistic missile capabilities and production facilities, annihilate the Iranian navy and its ability to project power, degrade Iran’s broader security infrastructure and defense industrial base, disrupt support for terrorist proxies like Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis, protect U.S. allies and partners in the region, and ensure Iran never acquires a nuclear weapon.

These goals have been repeated in public addresses, Truth Social posts, and Pentagon briefings.

The strategy has also been clear and consistent from the start. The administration is applying maximum pressure through precision airstrikes on key targets, a naval blockade of Iranian ports and the Strait of Hormuz, and sustained economic sanctions to degrade Iran’s capabilities and force it back to the negotiating table for a stronger agreement.

The endgame is straightforward: maintain pressure until Iran verifiably curbs its nuclear program, including enrichment and stockpiles, limits its missiles and proxies, and stops weaponizing the Strait of Hormuz.

President Trump has repeatedly said he is open to a good deal, but only from a position of strength with firm red lines on core security threats.

In the hearing Psaki referenced, she went on to say:

“And during that testimony in front of the House Armed Services Committee, Pete Hegseth reminded all of us that during this time of war, we have the most unqualified, the most unprepared, and the most clownish person ever to serve in that role.”

Psaki worked for President Obama as a senior State Department spokesperson during the Iran nuclear negotiations and the related cash transfers. She later defended similar Iran-related financial moves as Biden’s White House Press Secretary and has never expressed opposition to them. Yet the Obama administration delivered $1.7 billion in cash to Iran — money that funded terrorism and the regime’s destabilizing activities across the region. She never once did a show calling that a bad decision.

President Obama’s diplomatic engagement strategy was a failure — it enriched and emboldened Iran. The real clownish performance here is Jen Psaki claiming President Trump has no purpose, strategy, and endgame while she still defends Obama’s failed approach that helped fuel terrorism.
