Mark Kelly’s comment is exactly the kind of identity politics people are tired of. A space shuttle crew should be chosen based on competence and qualifications, not on whether the members fit the right racial or demographic mix. Reducing highly trained pilots to ‘white guys like me’ is unfair, lazy, and divisive.
