PBS featured Elie Mystal to promote his new book, where he claimed that immigrants became “illegal” to keep America White and Protestant.
He said, “In the case of the 1921 Immigration and Nationalization Act, which is what is our foundational immigration law in this country, this law was, uh uh, this law heavily relied, um, on the science of America’s leading eugenicist Harry Laughlin.” However, Mystal ignored Margaret Sanger, a key eugenics advocate and Planned Parenthood’s founder, whose ideas about controlling births among the ‘unfit’—including poor and minority groups—still echo in Planned Parenthood’s heavy presence in Black neighborhoods and high abortion rates among Black women. The Democrat Party’s push for abortion rights fuels this, overlooking how it disproportionately hits Black communities. That is why I can’t take him seriously as he cries racism on PBS while taking about immigration, and his book.
Mystal said: What we don’t need to do is to criminalize people who have committed no crime simply because they’re here out of status, simply because they overstayed their visa, simply because they didn’t fill out the right paperwork in the right form, in the right triple liquid with the carbon copy and get it notarized. Like that is not a criminal offense, that is a civil offense…. But throwing people in jail, taking them away from their children, throwing their children in jails, or holding pens or concentration camps or whatever euphemism we’re calling it today. That’s immoral. That’s wrong, and that doesn’t need to happen.
Mystal’s claim on PBS that illegal immigration is just a paperwork issue is nonsense. Overstaying visas or sneaking across borders isn’t a minor civil slip—it’s a deliberate violation of U.S. law. Decriminalizing it invites crime, weakens national security, puts all Americans’ lives in danger, and rewards lawbreaking. Jailing illegal immigrants and detaining their children isn’t immoral; it’s enforcing consequences. Calling detention centers “concentration camps” is hyperbolic drivel meant to guilt-trip. Borders exist for a reason—deal with it.
Taxpayer-funded and globalist PBS is pushing Mystal’s open-borders garbage, claiming illegal immigration is just a paperwork error to justify letting anyone waltz into the U.S. unchecked. This is not news; it’s globalist, open-borders, left-wing opinion. Despite President Trump’s executive order, PBS has not been defunded yet.
