Rachel Maddow is a liar. Donald Trump does not want health insurance costs to “double or triple.” And Obamacare premiums have already doubled and tripled. Obamacare premiums have risen almost every single year since it was enacted — even with subsidies in place. Those subsidies don’t lower real healthcare costs; they simply shift the burden to taxpayers. Blaming Trump for rising premiums ignores the basic reality that Obamacare increased premiums.

Trump is now whining about how we might have to veto it if and when it passes in the Senate as well. Because he definitely wants to make sure that people’s health insurance premiums double or triple in cost for nothing other than something that he personally did. He apparently wants that. I mean, what we’ve just seen in Congress is one of the worst rebukes Trump has had from congressional Republicans since he has been back in office this whole disastrous year.
