Abdul El-Sayed, the progressive Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Michigan, wants taxpayers to fund Medicare for All, which his campaign says would guarantee coverage to “every person in the U.S.” He also says Medicare for All should cover reproductive care, including abortion, and gender-affirming care for adults and minors with parental involvement.
El-Sayed said:
Healthcare should be a choice made by a patient and their doctor.
If that patient is under the age of 18, the parents as well, right.
And I believe that Medicare for All should cover all healthcare, which is defined by what a patient needs in accordance with their doctor.
So that includes reproductive rights, that includes gender affirming care.
Under the government-run Medicare for All system he demands, taxpayers would be forced to fund abortions and “gender-affirming care” for both adults and children, with parental consent for minors.
That means taxpayer money paying for elective abortions and for chemical or surgical gender-transition procedures — including for children.
He also supports abolishing ICE. At the same time, his Medicare for All proposal promises coverage to every person in the United States.
That means taxpayers would finance a government-run system covering people here illegally while also paying for abortions and gender-transition procedures.
This is not healthcare.
This is not border security.
Healthcare restores function, treats illness, and preserves life.
Abortion ends a developing human life.
Gender-affirming interventions on adults or children do not cure a disease; they sterilize, mutilate, and create lifelong medical patients.
Abolishing ICE while expanding taxpayer-funded government coverage abandons the basic duty of any nation to control its borders and put its own citizens first.
A system that takes your hard-earned wages to fund the destruction of the unborn, sex changes, and healthcare coverage for people in the USA illegally does not serve Americans.
It kills the unborn through abortion.
It weakens immigration enforcement.
And it leaves people permanently unable to reproduce.
Once politicians can make taxpayers fund almost anything by calling it “healthcare,” what will they make us pay for next?
