On the Monday, July 13, 2026, edition of The Rachel Maddow Show, Maddow portrayed stepped-up immigration enforcement as the real danger facing American cities and towns.
Can you imagine if Maddow showed the same outrage and wall-to-wall coverage for Americans killed by illegal aliens as she does when ICE kills an illegal alien or a leftist who rammed officers with a car?
Maddow said:
“Trump’s Department of Homeland Security and ICE have been scaling up their arrests of immigrants really fast in the past few weeks. They have tried, it seems, to keep it out of the headlines, in contrast to the Kristi Noem era at Homeland Security.
But according to public records, they’ve been arresting something on the order of 2,000 people per day, which is a massive number of arrests per day.
And we know from very painful experience that when these guys try to scale up the numbers of people they’re arresting every day, they really do seem to get more violent and more reckless, and more people get killed as they are scaling up these numbers.
We are now seeing an unmistakable trail of bodies in the streets of American cities and towns.
And what happens when they do that? Well, Americans are revolted, and they react, including in the streets all over the country.”
Maddow’s claim that the Trump administration and ICE are trying to keep immigration arrests “out of the headlines” is hilarious.
The legacy media turn nearly every ICE arrest, raid, protest, and confrontation into national news, always portraying federal officers as the aggressors and those being arrested as innocent victims.
What they actually keep out of the headlines is the good ICE is doing by arresting and removing criminal illegal aliens: taking murderers, rapists, child predators, gang members, and repeat offenders off American streets; dismantling human-trafficking and drug-smuggling operations; rescuing exploited and trafficked children; disrupting fentanyl trafficking; and protecting Americans from becoming the next victims of violent illegal alien crime.
Maddow also repeatedly refers to the people being arrested simply as “immigrants.” That language erases the critical distinction between legal immigrants, who followed the law, and illegal immigrants who did not. Calling them merely “immigrants” makes immigration enforcement sound like an attack on every immigrant in America. It is not.
If Maddow wants to talk about an “unmistakable trail of bodies in the streets of American cities and towns,” she should talk about the American citizens who have been murdered, raped, assaulted, stabbed, robbed, tortured, kidnapped, shot, killed by reckless drivers, and hurt by people who are in the country illegally.
Over the past 50 years, it is very possible that illegal aliens have killed more than 900,000 Americans — if just one American is murdered per day by an illegal alien in each of the 50 states — and committed countless millions of other crimes. Yet Rachel Maddow hasn’t mentioned even one of these victims.
To Rachel Maddow, the lives of criminal illegal aliens matter more than the lives of American citizens — even her own viewers.
