U.S. Park Police arrested multiple people, initially reported as at least five and later six, on misdemeanor charges related to destruction of government property or tampering.
Another five to seven individuals received federal citations, with around 14 police reports filed overall.
President Trump publicly stated that five or six individuals had been arrested, with others under investigation or cited.
He described the incidents as deliberate sabotage, including claims of a long “gash,” hundreds of feet long, allegedly cut with knives or blades and possible corrosive chemicals added.
