MSNBC 2020: Who Are You Going To Trust On A Pandemic — Fauci Or The WH Social Media Director?

In July 2020, White House social media director Dan Scavino publicly criticized “Doctor” Fauci.

MSNBC hosts responded with pure sarcasm:

Dan Scavino, who runs social media at the White House, just out in the open put his name on it attacking Dr. Fauci in the middle of this crisis as it explodes.

Yeah, who you gonna trust on a pandemic? A guy who’s a famous infectious disease expert or the White House social media director. You know, it’s a tough one here.

The framing was clear: trust Fauci automatically, mock Scavino.

In 2020, the side MSNBC told everyone to trust got major things wrong — on masks, school closures, lab-leak origins, natural immunity, and vaccines— while dismissing or ridiculing anyone who questioned the official line.

The White House social media director turned out to be more right than the doctors and experts whose talking points the media repeated nonstop.
