Steele opened the program by sarcastically suggesting that Elon Musk needed an “intervention” after Musk acknowledged that he may have gotten a little too involved in politics.
“We’re going to get to all of that and more over the next hour, but want to start tonight with an intervention for a guy who, well, I think might have a serious problem.”
Steele then played a clip of Musk being asked whether he regretted becoming so involved in politics.
“I think I got a little too involved in politics, got carried away, frankly,” Musk responded.
Steele smugly replied:
“Hmm, great job, Elon. The first step is admitting you have a problem.”
What exactly is Musk’s “serious problem”? Exercising his right as an American citizen to participate in politics?
Elon Musk has every right to speak about political issues, donate to candidates, support a political party and encourage Americans to vote. He has the same rights as every American, including the cable-news personalities who attempt to influence voters every night.
Apparently, political involvement only becomes a “problem” when someone supports candidates the establishment media oppose.
The hypocrisy is impossible to miss.
People like as Michael Steele spend countless hours on television trying to shape public opinion, influence elections and persuade viewers to support their preferred political agenda. Yet Steele has the audacity to ridicule Musk.
Steele is not some neutral journalist standing outside the political system. He is an anti-Trump establishment Republican and Biden voter appearing on an openly anti-Trump network, using a national television platform to attack Musk for supporting Republicans.

He repeated the unproven, made-up claim that Musk’s cuts had caused the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people abroad and could cause millions more deaths by the end of the decade.
Steele said:
“Well, Harvard School of Public Health estimates that Musk’s closure of USAID led to deaths of hundreds of thousands of people abroad. And researchers predict those same cuts could lead to millions of more deaths by the end of this decade.”
Those numbers are not a documented count of people proven to have been killed by cuts to USAID.
They are estimates and future projections produced through mathematical modeling based on liberal and exaggerated assumptions about what could happen when foreign-aid funding is reduced.
A projection is not a verified death toll. A computer model is not a collection of death certificates. An estimate does not prove that one person personally caused every death included in the calculation.
A responsible news organization would never present those numbers as established fact.
It would investigate the researchers’ methodology, explain the assumptions behind the model, disclose the uncertainty surrounding the projections, and make clear the difference between confirmed deaths and speculative outcomes.
Instead, Steele repeated the most politically inflammatory version of the claim and placed the blame on Elon Musk, his political opponent.
