My X Premium Account Faces Constant Censorship And Restrictions, Defying Musk’s Free Speech Goals

I’ve been back on X for just over a year after being banned when Elon Musk acquired the platform. When I emailed X about the ban, they didn’t reinstate my account immediately, but they eventually did. However, since then, I’ve been temporarily removed from the platform three times. I’ve also had restrictive labels placed on my account that severely limit my reach and am frequently locked out. To regain access, I’m forced to complete tasks like “counting rocks” and entering a code sent via email. Each time this happens, I temporarily lose all my followers. I also have to click a box to verify I’m human almost every day, which is frustrating because I’m a paying member. Additionally, strange issues occur, such as all my posts being removed or my X page flickering constantly for periods of time.

Worst of all, the censorship of my posts is more severe than it has ever been in my entire time on Twitter and X, despite Musk’s goal to promote free speech and original content on the platform. It doesn’t matter what I post—everything is affected. For example, I’ll transcribe a segment from a news show I watch and post it, and it will reach only 10 people ever, with several of those views being my own.

As a premium customer, I expect better reach, but paying for a subscription makes no difference. I’ve also paid to promote posts. The first few I promoted reached the right audience and received at least ten comments. Now, when I promote a post, X claims it reaches 7,000 to 20,000 people, but I get only one comment—often from a Democrat. I don’t trust those numbers and believe the posts aren’t reaching my target audience, if anyone at all. When I do get likes, they’re almost always from porn accounts or fake accounts impersonating Elon or Maye Musk. I once promoted a post for $25, and it reached only 150 people total. Many of those views were from me visiting my own page.

In the over 400 days since I returned to X, I’ve never once appeared in the ‘You Might Like,’ ‘Who to Follow,’ or ‘For You’ sections. Yet, I repeatedly see the same accounts with millions of followers in those sections—people I’d never like or choose to follow.

X frequently shows me prompts like “Get Free Ad Credit by Upgrading to Verified Organizations,” but they wouldn’t approve me for it. After emailing them, I decided I no longer wanted to be a Verified Organization anyway. Still, I went through the trouble of making my website an LLC for it.

I’m fed up with not being treated equally on X. I’ve been banned and suspended countless times since Twitter’s inception. It’s incredibly unfair. I believe I’m on a list and being discriminated against for what I think and say. I genuinely thought Musk’s acquisition might improve things, but it hasn’t. While they let me back on, the censorship is worse than ever.

I have 1,270 followers, but X doesn’t show my content to them, let alone anyone else. In the posts below, many of the views are mine. The number of people each post supposedly reached is indicated by the vertical lines. The time or date is at the top.

I took these screenshots on June 6 at 5 a.m. I posted the top post on May 30, and it only reached 22 people, several of whom were me, in all that time. I watched the shows and recorded these clips myself. I don’t use other people’s videos as my own, so this content is original to me. I also often transcribe their words. Yet, Musk’s X refuses to show them to my followers.

It’s truly unbelievable that an original content post, which I watched and transcribed myself, reaches fewer than 22 people in 7 days. When I post links to articles, they sometimes reach zero people.

Let’s look at more below.

This video clip has been up for two days and has reached only twenty-two views, many of which are me.

In 21 hours, this video clip I watched has only reached seven people.

In 24 hours, this post reached only ten people.

In 21 hours, this video clip I recorded reached only eight people. Several, if not all, of those views were mine.

This post reached only three people in 19 hours. Those three views were me.

After more time passes, the reach of these posts doesn’t improve. They simply disappear, never seen by anyone. X’s censorship severely limits my posts’ visibility, despite the platform’s stated goal of promoting free expression. Even as an X Premium subscriber, paying for enhanced features, I see no improvement in my content’s reach. I am not spam, yet my content is treated as if it were. I also get these labels. This one wasn’t the first, and it won’t be the last.

X needs to stop treating its adult users like children and deliver the “digital town square” Elon Musk promised, where “free speech is the bedrock” and authentic voices like mine, an X Premium subscriber sharing original content, are amplified rather than suppressed.

Look at this one. I paid to promote it. I am the retweet. So out of 2,200 views, this post didn’t get one like, comment, or retweet. That’s hard to believe.
